Luxury yachts have been built since ancient times. Since the 16th century, the Dutch have excelled in this, and their yachts have become the model for luxurious representative ships that all other nations have followed. Their construction was due to the fabulous wealth made from maritime trade of the Republic of the Seven Provinces of the United Netherlands (1581-1795). These luxury ships served not just wealth merchants but also for transporting high officials, officers and representatives of business companies to official meetings or ceremonies.
The yachts were designed for cruising rivers, estuaries or on the sea near the coast. The hull lengths ranged from 15 - 21 m in length.  The Statnyachts were richly decorated in the style preferred by their owner, and they provided all the luxuries needed for cruising, including decent accommodation with comfortable beds, kitchen and dining facilities, and heating.

The model of the Statenjacht Utrecht is based on plans from 1746 by the designer and naval architect Pieter van Zwijndregt. Originally, this ship was used by representatives of the United East India Company (VOC).
Between 1998 and 2003, a replica was to help about 100 unemployed people to learn traditional skills for employment.

The ship is docked from April to November in Volendam and in winter in Veilinghaven at Van Zijstweg in Utrecht.

The model as it sits in the box is professionally done. The lines for rigging look realistic and in scale. The wood blocks are the best I have ever seen. The instruction booklet is thorough and well-illustrated. The injection-molded plastic parts are crisp with little flash. Overall, before starting assembly, I would give the kit five stars. The packaging, however, might be sufficient for shipping within the Czech Republic, but it’s a long way to the USA. The carton passes through the hands of many gorillas who delight in crushing it. I suggest a larger carton with more material around the model box. The carton and model box within suffered crushing damage, but the model contents were intact.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We usually send accessories to the US, not kits, where it's really only the contents that matter. This is our first kit, so we are happy to know what to improve.
