The blocks feature the characteristic continental shape commonly used in Europe during this period and offer significantly more accurate historical detailing compared to the simplified parts typically included in standard kits.
Roter Löwe was among the important European warships of the late 16th century and represents the transition period between late medieval ship designs and early galleons. The ship was built in the Netherlands in 1597 and was later purchased for the Duchy of Prussia during the Polish–Swedish conflict. She served as a guard ship and flagship at the port of Pillau under the command of Admiral Georg von Eppingen. In 1608, the galleon sailed to Lisbon with a cargo of timber, where she was later sold. Her final fate remains unknown.
