Mr. Dalibor built this model when he made cruise on this ship. The atmosphere and beauty of the ships inspired him so much that he built the model only on the basis of a plan from the book and information available on the web and the experiences he had with this beautiful ship.
He used the photoetched parts, blocks and ropes we supplied on the model.

Galleas Ship 1:160 IMAI by Petr

Another model of my friend Peter - a very rare model of the Galleas ship in a scale of 1: 160 from the Japanese company IMAI Kagaku, which no longer exists. Its a shame, because she produced top models, which are highly valued among modellers. The photo gallery shows the construction process, including the production of imitation rolled canvas tarpaulins and the use of our CNC Amati pulleys and ropes. I believe that this model will also be an inspiration for you.

I enclose a very nice description of the kit that I found on WortPoint:

IMAI was a Japanese model kit manufacturer that produced relatively few but excellent kits, primarily in the 1980s. Their ship kits were exceptionally well-done and included detail rarely seen in plastic models. The rigging components and instructions, for example, are more typical of the most advanced wood kits. The Galleass / Galeass was a revolutionary design and was a combination of the classic galley with the more modern sailing man o war. Its chief weapon were its powerful cannon, where galleys had traditionally relied on boarding and ramming tactics. The galley had long dominated sea warfare in the Mediterranean, going back to the ancient battles of Salamis and Actium and continuing into the nineteenth century. But in 1571, Christian and Muslim forces met in the key battle of Lepanto near Greece, where a consortium of southern European Catholic states employed the galleass at the head of their fleets to defeat the Ottoman Turks, thereby ending the expansion of that great empire into European territory. The model is about 15 long and features remarkable detail packed in a compact kit. The listing photos should give you an idea what to expect. The decks are exposed, showing off the banks of looms (oars) and complexities of the three-masted lateen rig. The forecastle bristles with a rotunda of cannon, and an ornate display base lends a classy, final touch. I bought this rare kit new, but never opened the parts bags, which remain sealed. The sail is actual cloth material, and all materials, packaging and instructions look excellent. I combine shipping costs for multiple purchases and only charge actual postage fees (ie no hidden handling charges). International buyers are responsible for any customs charges or import duties, and these are not calculated in the shipping price. Only Priority Mail offers tracking, although I also offer First Class International as an option. NOTE: I strive to provide 5 star service for my buyers and try to give accurate descriptions with detailed photos of the actual items. So if you have any questions or complaints, please contact me before leaving feedback to work out a solution. Thanks for looking, and please contact me with any questions.
