Carronades
Carronades are short naval cannons introduced in the second half of the 18th century and widely used, particularly by the British Royal Navy. Compared to traditional long guns, they featured a much shorter barrel and lower weight and were intended for very close-range combat, where they delivered devastating firepower. On sailing ships, carronades were typically mounted on upper decks, forecastles, and quarterdecks, complementing the main battery of long guns. Carronades for ship models are metal replicas based on documented historical designs and are sold individually as single pieces. A compatible cannon carriage for each carronade is listed in the related products section.
