USA Orders — Duties & Fees

USA Orders — Duties & Fees (from 29 Aug 2025 - USA entry date)

From 29 August 2025, the United States charges duties on all parcels from the European Union. For our products, you should expect:

  • Import duty: 15% of the goods value.
  • Processing fee (MPF): informal entry (most parcels up to $2,500): $2.62 per shipment in September 2025; from 1 Oct 2025: $2.69. Couriers may also add a small advancement/brokerage fee.

These charges are collected by the delivery company on behalf of U.S. Customs. Prices on our website do not include U.S. duties or fees.

Example: If your order total for goods is $200, estimated duty is $30 (15%), plus MPF $2.62 (September 2025) — total $32.62 — and possibly a small carrier brokerage/advancement fee. From 1 Oct 2025, MPF becomes $2.69.

Good to know

  • Who collects the money? DHL/UPS/FedEx/USPS at delivery or before release from customs.
  • What is the duty base? The value of the goods (shipping cost is typically not part of the duty base).
  • When does it start? For parcels entered into the U.S. customs system on/after 29 Aug 2025.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience — this is mandated by the current U.S.–EU customs arrangement, and we have no control over these government charges.

Soleil Royal by John Ott

Model: Le Soleil Royal
Scale: 1:100
Manufacturer: Heller
Build author: John Ott

John has managed to turn the Soleil Royal plastic kit into a true masterpiece. Many thanks for his permission to publish his photos on our website. In the photo gallery you can see photos of his great model, on which he used our accessories like blocks, sails, ropes and photo-etch.

We are glad that John praised the quality of our products:
"Yes, the beautiful sails came from HISmodel. I shortened the main and foresail for a better fit, and added bolt-ropes, earrings, and cringles. I am very happy with the look and quality of the sails."
"Products from HiSmodel played a very big role in the success of my build. I think your website should be one the first stops for any ship modeler looking to do a kit upgrade."

In addition to the photos here, you can also see his build that he published on the Model Ship World forum, where he also recommends our accessories.
